Jason was admitted to the Missouri Bar in September 2001. Before practicing law exclusively in the area of bankruptcy, Jason had worked for the Missouri Attorney General’s office in Criminal Appeals. Jason is a member of the Missouri Bar Association. Jason is also a member of Pi Kappa Delta where in 2015, Jason earned the Order of Attainment Award for societal contributions as a bankruptcy attorney. That same year Jason was recognized by Webster University and received the Outstanding Alumni of the Year award. Jason is licensed to practice in the State of Missouri and is admitted to practice in federal courts for the Western District of Missouri and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Education

Jason graduated High School at University City High in University City, Missouri in 1991. At that time Jason decided that he wanted to represent his country. Jason then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1992 and was assigned to recruit training at Great Lakes, Illinois and was placed in the 34th Cardinal Company. After recruit training Jason went through Airman Apprentice training also at Great Lakes. After Airman Apprentice training Jason was assigned to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower where he worked in the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department. Jason was then stationed at the Norfolk Naval Air Station in Norfolk Virginia. Jason worked in a publication distribution office at the Air Station’s AMC terminal where he coordinated the distribution of publications, forms, and regulations to AMC terminals all over the world. Jason received an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1994.

Jason attended college at Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. While at Webster Jason traveled all over the country as a debater on Webster’s Forensics and Debate Team. Jason debated at National Debate Tournaments in all 4 years at Webster. As a senior Jason became the President of the Forensics and Debate Team. Jason debated in both Cross Examination Debate and Parliamentary Debate. Jason won many debate and speaker awards at tournaments in both forms of debate. As a senior Jason received the Outstanding Senior Speaker Award and was voted the “Most Valued Team Member” by the team. Jason concentrated his studies in the areas of law and math where he received Mathematics Departmental Honors. Jason was a member of Who’s Who among students in American Universities and Colleges as a senior at Webster. He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies.

Jason was then accepted into Law School at the University of Missouri Kansas City’s School of Law in 1998. Jason was elected as a representative to UMKC’s Student Bar Association each year while in law school. Jason also participated in Moot Court activities at UMKC and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Jason received a National Moot Court Recognition Award for exemplary service as Appellate Advocacy II Coordinator. Jason also received the American Jurisprudence Appellate Advocacy Award for the best overall in Appellate Advocacy II. Jason also participated in the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria in 2000. Jason graduated law school from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2001 with a Juris Doctor degree.

Jason currently resides North of the River and has two wonderful daughters, ages 23 and 12.
